We are passionate about protecting the marine environment
By protecting local habitats as well as educating people about their contribution to conservation, we're hoping to protect both animals and their homes.
Manly SEA LIFE Sanctuary protects it's local marine environment in several ways.
As a centre for marine education, we educate thousands of visitors each week about the impact humans have on the marine environment. We also teach our guests about what they can do to get involved, minimize their impact, and help protect the underwater world.
Local Clean Ups
We are actively involved in protecting our local marine environment. We commit manpower and time to monthly beach & underwater cleanups of Manly Cove. Our local environment is not only home to an amazing collection of fish life but also zoned as critical habitat for Little Penguins.
Inspired by Cleanup Australia day, every quarter we also hold these cleanups on a Sunday so that our community can get involved. We hope to be a force for protection by providing as close to natural a habitat as possible for rescued animals too sick to be released back into the wild.
With time, manpower and promotion we actively support community conservation initiatives like the Two Hands Project, EcoDivers, Mermaid Pools Project, The Penguin Wardens, Manly Environment Centre, Project Penguin and Clean Up Australia Day.
SEA LIFE Conservation Fund
We are also involved with projects that are run by our own SEA LIFE Trust.
